Intuition Will Guide You Home
One of my least favorite interview questions is “Where do you see yourself in five years?” I know what they really want you to say is that you’ll be happily plugging away at their place of employment and couldn’t ever imagine leaving. But that just isn’t me. The reason I named my freelance agency Lisa K. Adams Creative is because I never know what I’ll do next. I’ve always been open to inspiration and following those leads wherever they take me. And they usually take me far past what my mind would imagine for myself in five years.
Unexpected Delays
Let’s rewind five years just to really bring this home. In early 2020, the resort I was doing marketing for closed their doors and I was laid off. I dreamed of taking a cross-country trip in my spare time, but quickly reoriented to a solitary world as I settled into the pandemic hundreds of miles away from my family and friends. Usually, unexpected delays are an indicator that something is not right for you.
Staring at the same walls day in and day out, I was inspired to start collecting more antique art, then I reupholstered a chair, then I was inspired to create a beautiful home office space. With all the time in the world on my hands, I participated in an online Pampered Chef party, reading and commenting on nearly every single post. A thought popped into my head that I could do this and by June of 2020 I was diving into becoming an Independent Pampered Chef Consultant, which led me to start creating cooking and mixology videos at home in my kitchen. I was having the time of my life!
Tuning In
I was meditating and practicing qigong daily and would say I was pretty tuned into my inner guidance system. In a couple meditations, I was called to get a reiki attunement. Luckily, I already knew someone who teaches and she had a class in June 2021. Around the same time, I received a message that I should take that trip I had dreamed up the year before. So, I put all my belongings in storage, moved back into my parents’ home, and by July I hit the road, traveling from Wisconsin to Kentucky, a pit stop in Georgia, then onto Florida, South Carolina, and Virigina, before heading back home five weeks later. During this time, I wrote nearly every day in my journal and translated my internal experiences into blog posts that would become the Soul Journey blog (you can find them here). I always say I travelled thousands of miles on that journey to find my internal true north.
A friend was opening a coffee shop in 2022, so I lent my marketing skills to get everything up and running, which led to me officially launching Lisa K. Adams Creative. Helping a couple businesses in our small hometown, I dreamt up a holiday event that would encourage tourism and support the local businesses during the slow season. I collaborated with nearly all the businesses in town for that event, featured Santa visits, supported non-profit organizations, and pulled it off with only about three weeks of planning.
Following The Leads
I accepted another hotel marketing job in Sheboygan in February 2023. The week before I was to leave, I had a Quantum Healing Hypnosis Therapy (QHHT) session where I learned my move would be expansive for me, but I couldn’t have possibly guessed how that would play out. Within a few weeks, I headed out into the community to start developing business partnerships and by the holidays, I developed a lifestyle magazine showcasing the community and all it had to offer the hotel guests. By the next issue, I was selling advertising in the magazine.
In the spring of 2024, I planned a Taste of Sheboygan event highlighting local restaurants and attractions. As a first-year event, we weren’t sure how well it would be received, so we conservatively planned for 100 attendees. Over the month of ticket sales, I continually added more and more tickets to sell, finally capping it off around 350. We partnered with the Sheboygan County Food Bank for the event and ended up being able to donate $5,000 from the proceeds. I was learning I had a knack for bringing people together in collaboration and community building was honestly the best part of my job.
In May of 2024, I could feel the tides turning and knew I needed to find another way forward. As luck would have it, my reiki teacher was offering a master level attunement and I knew it was time for me to take the next step on that journey. I started sending out reiki to my day while on my soul journey in 2021 and that had evolved to send out reiki through my marketing and the events I planned. In the fall when I left the hotel position, I questioned if I had gotten reiki training as part of a divine plan to practice reiki or teach it, but I also was drawn to the idea of creating a spiritual magazine. As the energy of the fall picked up, I knew I was on this planet just to shine a light and I let that be enough.
My Human Design
Welcome to 2025! I had a Human Design Foundational coaching session with Tammie Trippler at Meridian Wellness (you can read that story here) and discovered I have 4/6 profile lines which helped me to see I am exactly where I am supposed to be, at the right time, doing the right thing. It’s almost as if my intuition knew exactly how to guide me home to my true self.
With a profile line 4, I am a connector, a networker, and a stabilizer. I have always developed deep, loyal bonds and have seen how this magnetizes opportunities through those relationships. People tend to trust me because I’m real and relatable and tend to come to me because they feel safe and seen.
My profile line 6 has been developing me into my third act where I will fully step into being a role model and wisdom keeper. Because I have lived the experiences, I have a big-picture perspective of how to evolve over time and can share the knowledge I’ve picked up along the way to provide a living blueprint for how others can live in alignment.
I feel most aligned when surrounded by a trusted community and I share my gifts through connection. I’m like a heart-centered web weaver, not just building bridges, but being the bridge. Looking toward the horizon, it is so important to me to work with other heart-centered businesses and I have found that in my spiritual and healing community.
Explore the Awakened
But my magic comes from nurturing my circle, not building alone in a silo. I saw this expand in such a profound and unexpected way for me working with the community in Sheboygan. When I nourish my network for mutual evolution, I become a community alchemist, uplifting others simply by being in integrity. I’ve discovered I am perfectly designed to build safe containers where people feel seen, heard, and inspired.
I am so excited to share I’m currently building Explore the Awakened. At its heart, this is a guide for those on the spiritual path who are ready to explore the variety of healing and spiritual modalities available from reiki, QHHT, and human design to halotherapy, psychic mediumship, intuitive development, and more.
I’ve collaborated with local business owners under the ideology that when we all do better, we all do better. We believe the Lake Michigan lakeshore region of northeast Wisconsin is a spiritual destination for healing and wellness and we want to share that with the world. We’re kicking off the Explore the Awakened Lakeshore promotion on May 30th and will encourage people to try out a variety of services this summer for a chance to win a grand prize package, but you can register now just by signing up to receive information from Explore the Awakened!
